Type of Universities/Colleges


  • United Kingdom have more than 159 universities and higher education institution. These universities can be categorize to 3 sections; historical university, university that founded after world war 2, and the new universities changed title to University by 1990s. Historical University possess adequate study resources for their students and new universities still maintain focusing on hands-on practice of study.
  • Apart from the Bachelor’s Degree level, UK University also provide various professional certificate courses.
    1) NVQ (National Vocational Qualification) & GNVQ (General National Vocational Qualification), serve as more practical courses.
-GNVQ equal to A-Level study, hence, it can be act as pathway to university Bachelor’s Degree level.
-In Scotland, NVQ and GNVQ is called as SVQ and GSVQ.
2) HND (Higher National Diploma), is a two years specific major certificate courses which includes scientific research, technology and business.
-HND Graduates can enter Bachelor’s Degree year 3 level, and complete in one year.

  • In general, UK Colleges have 3 semester in one academic year, there will be 10 to 14 weeks for every semester. Students can choose for January or September intake. School holiday will fall on Christmas Day (December) and Easter Day (April), and there will be 10 weeks holiday for summer break (June to August)

After you decided the university you want to go, check with the university regarding their English requirement and apply for English Test immediately.

Step 3: Fill in and submit application to respective colleges.
Other than apply through the respective university website, student may also apply through Universities & Colleges Admissions Service, UCAS, or seek for the education counselor advise.

Step 4: Get your official offer letter.
You will get your offer letter once they accepted you.

Step 5: Apply for student visa.
Once you received your offer letter, apply for student visa immediately to prevent any late submission. Normally, Education counselor will help student to apply for the Student Visa.

Step 6: Get yourself ready.
Once your student visa is approved, prepare yourself and fly to UK.
