  • Cantonal Universities & Federal Institutes of Technology: Switzerland has 10 Cantonal Universities and 2 Federal Institutes of Technology. Cantonal Universities are categorised as comprehensive universities, which include Liberal Arts, Sciences, Engineering, and Business courses. While Federal Institutes of Technology focuses on Mathematics, Natural Science, Architectural, Engineering and Information Technology.
  • Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts: There are 8 of them in Switzerland, which cover almost all the courses. However, it is more on practical teaching style; Switzerland also has 20 Universities of Teacher Education, and two private universities supported by the government.
  • Private Universities: Switzerland has more than 100 private universities around the country, including many career practical colleges. Private universities are not under the control of the Switzerland Government, hence, they can change their syllabus when they needed.

  • Bachelor’s Degree courses require STPM, A-Level, UEC or any other equivalent level. Some of the universities require student to take university entry test.
  • Applicant may be required to submit language tests result, such as German, French, Italian or English test.

  • Students are allowed to do part-time job after they stay in Switzerland for more than 6 months, 15 hours per weeks will be the limit of doing part-time job. No limitation during school holidays.
  • Switzerland’s government requires whoever stay in Switzerland more than 3 months to purchase a medical insurance.
