Methodist College Kuala Lumpur (MCKL) was founded as a private educational institution in January 1983 by the Methodist Council of Education. The Founding Principal was Mrs. F R Bhupalan. Secondary classes (Forms 1 to 5), Sixth Form and A-level classes were conducted and the enrollment increased dramatically with the success achieved by the College.
In 2000 the Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) programme of the Curriculum Council, Western Australia was added to the GCE A-level, U.K. pre-university studies programme. Both the GCE A-level and AUSMAT programmes have successfully prepared numerous students for admission to overseas universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, U.S.A., Singapore, India and many other countries as well as to local private university colleges.
