Overview
Owned by 2 prestigious universities, the International University of Malaya-Wales (IUMW) was established based on a mutual partnership between the University of Malaya (UM) & the University of Wales, UK in 2012. Since then, the University has experienced tremendous growth and remains committed to developing students who are ready to contribute to the next industrial revolution.
IUMW is one of the first universities in Malaysia to offer their programmes as Dual Awards. Dual Awards programmes are offered in collaboration with our partner university, the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), UK. When students graduate, they will receive certification from both IUMW and UWTSD. This is a valuable opportunity for students to experience global education by spending a semester at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and obtain dual degrees from the UK and IUMW.

Scholarship
IUMW Foundation Scholarships
- RM4,500 – Applicable for students who sign up to progress into the Bachelor programme with the IUMW Foundation programme as a pathway.
Postgraduate Scholarships
- RM3,000 – Applicable for students who achieved cGPA 2.8-2.99 or 70-74.99% of their highest qualification
- RM5,000 – Applicable for students who achieved cGPA >3.0 or >75% of their highest qualification
IUMW High Achiever Scholarships
- Applicable only for Undergraduate studies.
- Applicable for students who have achieved remarkable results as per the qualifications specified below:
- SPM / UEC / O-LEVELS : 7 As (50%), 8As (75%), 9As (100%)
- STPM / A-Level : 2As (50%), 3As (75%), 4As (100%)
- Government Matriculation Programme: CGPA of 3.5-3.69 (50%), CGPA of 3.7-3.99 (75%), CGPA of 4.0 (100%)
IUMW International Scholarship
- RM15,000 – Applicable for students who achieved 75% and above marks in their respective country’s High School or Pre-University
As Rewards
- RM500 per A – Applicable for students who has As below than 7As in SPM/O-levels
High Achiever Rewards
- RM2,000 – Applicable for students who achieved cGPA >3.5 and above in their respective High School or Pre-University
Progression Waiver
- RM3,000 – Applicable for IUMW students who progress from: Bachelor to Master, Master to PhD/DBA
IUMW STUDENTS’ FAMILY WAIVER
- RM2,000 – Applicable for those who have immediate family members studying or graduated from IUMW.
VALUED CORPORATE PARTNERS (VCP) WAIVER
- RM2,000 – Applicable for only VCP’s staff and their immediate family members.
OVERSEAS EXHIBITION WAIVER
- RM10,000 – Applicable for International students (non-Malaysians) who register during the promotional event day.
Student Accomodation
For many students, studying at university means living away from home for the first time. The accommodation service at IUMW will help you make this transition as smooth as possible. We have a range of rooms available to rent in Bistari Condominium and Villa Putra. An accommodation officer can provide you with further information on each condominium to help you make your choice. Alternatively, should you wish to rent privately, we can provide you with a list of our recommended landlords.
