- Public Institutions : There are a total of 20 public universities in Malaysia which are funded by the government under the purview of the Ministry of Education Malaysia. - SPM graduates (equivalent to years 11 study) can either take STPM, Polytechnic & Community College, Pre-University courses from Public Institutions or Private Universities & University Colleges.
